HTSM Newsletter January 2019

Happy New Year!!! In the traditional depiction, Father Time

appears to be old   and worn out, yet I also see him as a wise  old man. Looking back at 2018, consider   how you have also grown in wisdom.  Don’t  dwell on the past, now look forward and   see  Baby New Year.  Babies are innocent   and full of promise, being still so close to   the hand of the Creator.

Look to 2019 as a year full of promise, hope, growth, and blessings.

May 2019 Bring You Many Blessings,

Margaret

Epiphany

“This is the Light of revelation to the nations and the glory of thy people Israel.”  Epiphany means manifestation and is celebrated as the revelation of Christ to all nations.  It commemorates of the visit of the Magi to the Christ Child (Matthew 2:12).   Christians celebrate the feast 12 days after Christmas with various traditional celebrations.  Finding the bean or the baby in the king cake is an Epiphany tradition that has also become part of Mardi Gras. The finder usually has to pay for the party the next year. In some places, Epiphany is the day when gifts are exchanged instead of on Christmas.

20+C+M+B+19 will be chalked above many front doors in honor of the three Kings (Caspar, Melchior, Balthasar) by folks hoping for good luck and blessings in the new year. Christus Mansionem Benedicat! May Christ bless this home.
